About
Us
The club dates back to 1961 and you can read more about
this later on . We are located at Bridge road High Kelling,
near Holt ....................(please use the Multi Map Link
above)
Facilities
3 full size pitches, 6 dedicated Mini Pitches and the fantastic
clubhouse are all owned by the Club itself. Within the clubhouse
there are changing facilities for up to 100 players as well
as a warm and friendly club room able to seat 120 guests for
dinners and pre-match luncheons. Put together this sees Holt
RFC established as a club with much to offer.
Playing - adults
We run 3 successful Adult sides, with our 1st XV playing
in Eastern Counties Division 1 (winning the Norfolk Junior
Cup in 2003 & 2006). Our 2nd XV and 3rd XV play a variety
of fixtures against local opposition and both teams are in
Merit table competitions. Players range in age from 17 through
to 60 ish. Abilities from the complete novice to County representatives.
If you are tempted to have a go and have never played before,
come along and have a look and introduce yourself . New players
are always welcome, no matter what experience. Everyone has
to start somewhere.
Non-Playing Members
Not only do we have very successful playing sides in the
club, but there is also a thriving set of supporters and enthusiasts.
Come along and be part of our club. You don’t have to play
the game to enjoy the entertainment. We have large numbers
of supporters who enjoy their Saturday afternoon pint watching
competitive and often exciting rugby.
Pre-Match Luncheons
When our 1st XV are playing league and other key matches
at home, we hold pre-match luncheons in our clubhouse. This
can mean over 100 rugby fans sitting down to enjoy a 3 course
lunch, together with “refreshments” at the bar, telephone
Roy Lawrence (01263 570029) our Chairman to book your pre
match luncheon.
Sponsors
We have generous sponsors (see our sponsorship section) who
support the club, but if you would like to get involved in
the club in this way there are many expenses we need to raise
money for, please contact Steve Dye (01328 878496) to see
what the club has to offer you.
Playing – Youth and Mini’s
Children can take part from Age 5 through to adult. We have
a team for every year from Under 6 through to Adult. Children
play non contact “Tag” rugby until they get to Under 9 (Year
4 at school). At which point the children learn to tackle.
We have full fixture lists and these can be viewed on the
Mini’s and Youth pages of this website. The Minis (This encompasses
all teams from Under 7 to Under 12) play a variety of fixtures
as well as 3 tournaments annually against other rugby clubs.
We also plan a week end away with the children in April 2004.
The emphasis is very much on fun, family participation and
team work skills. If you are tempted to have a go and have
never played before, come along and have a look one Sunday
morning and introduce yourself or ring Charlie Crafer on 01263
733932 for further information. New players are always welcome,
no matter what experience
