It is, without doubt, the most sociable event in North Norfolk on Boxing Day - one not to be missed. A real breath of fresh air after the Christmas festivities.
Holt RFC's first team play a team of kudos players invited by their Club President Paul Williams.View the 1st XV selection here It will be a hard-fought game of good quality rugby and well worth watching. The game will kick off at 11am at the club's ground, Bridge Road, High Kelling NR25 6QT.
The President's team will include Josh Simmons (Shelford) who will captain the side, his brother Charlie (Greshams) together with players from North Walsham, Diss, Southwold and Norwich. Holt captain, Ashley Woods, will be hoping to field a very strong side of regular first team players.
To add to the fun there will also be a fancy dress fixture open to all who are wearing the nominated dress code which, this year, is 'Hunters and the Hunted'. This game will kick off at 10.30am.
Holt's clubhouse provides exceptional facilities for both players and spectators. The bar will be open from 10am and, in addition to the usual drinks, will also serve mulled wine. For those who still have an appetite after the Christmas fare there will be a variety of hot and cold snacks available.
There will be a bucket collection during the day the proceeds of which will go to the President's nominated charity, Break, which provides homes for children in care and respite care for children with learning and physical disabilities in Norfolk.
