Norwich Medics
Holt Owls 27 Norwich Medics 7
To-day Holt Owls entertained Norwich Medics in a Norfolk Merit Table One fixture, with the home side looking to achieve a much needed victory to climb away from the bottom of the table. Medics unfortunately lost a player to a serious injury and with no replacement, contested the rest of the game one short. Holt however, knew they were up against a lively side and worked hard to establish a 12-0 lead by half-time.
Medics put themselves back into contention with a well taken converted try early in the second half, reducing the deficit to 12-7. This stung Holt back onto the offensive and for the majority of the half dictated play in a well contested game to score three more tries to earn a well won victory by 27-7 against worthy opponents and to help their chances of survival in this merit table. Holt will have to be on their best form to win the return fixture in April.
Next Saturday Holt 1st XV are away to Southwold in a return league fixture in a demanding encounter, with the home side just below them in the league and looking to avenge the defeat they suffered earlier in the season.
