Congratulations to our Club Treasurer, David Alfred Hitcham, BEM

Many congratulation to David Hitcham who has been awarded the British Empire Medal for services to the community in Aylsham.
David Hitcham has been a member of the Council of Aylsham Agricultural Show for more than 40 years, and is its current Treasurer. The show raises more than £40,000 a year for charity.

David is of course our Club Treasurer. Paul Williams, Club President proudly says:
“Holt RFC are very proud of the well-deserved award of the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours to David Hitcham. David has been Treasurer of Holt RFC for 15 years, and before that Secretary, and in that time has been a driving force in ensuring the Club has prospered and developed in Norfolk and the Eastern Counties. He has played a significant role in Holt RFC being awarded Eastern Counties ‘Club of the Year 2019’. Many congratulations”.

David told the Eastern Daily Press: "I'm absolutely delighted and it's a great honour. You do want to tell people but it was made quite clear you mustn't say anything. I had a letter from the Cabinet Office and a phone call to follow it up. It was all a great surprise to me." He added: "I've always got involved with the community and I just enjoy being part of where I live."
