An Open Invitation to all Officers, Coaches, Players, Supporters, and friends of HOLT RFC.

Holt RFC is a Rugby Club in North Norfolk and is very much part of this community. Dementia is an ever-increasing health problem and as a club we would like to make the club as inclusive as possible to all sectors of the community including people and their carers living with this condition.

19.30 Welcome and Introductions from Dr Richard Gorrod (Youth Chairman) and The Canon Nick Bell (Club Chaplain)

19.35 What is Dementia and How does it affect people. Dr Jonathan Hillam Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry

19.50 Workshops - 15mins each - Everybody will rotate through each workshop:

1) Why is it important for a Rugby Club to be Dementia Friendly? (Richard Gorrod and Nick Bell)

2) How does Dementia cause problems to someone? (Dr Jonathan Hillam)

3) What is the impact on families and friends affected by dementia (Sarah Farmer Wright and Kate Pollicott Reid)

4) How can people with dementia and their carers benefit from this initiative and how can the rugby club Benefit?
