#teamwork, #enjoyment & #discipline for our U 13's

The Holt U13 team faced the strongest competition in the East of England this Sunday at Stowmarket in the EC tier 1 festival. The playing conditions were tough and the opposition even tougher. The first two teams they faced, Shelford & Colchester were bigger man for man in all areas. Our boys were a little shellshocked at first but stuck at it despite the difficult conditions underfoot.
In the third game V Bury St Edmunds, the U13’s upped their game and produced some of the better rugby which we are capable of. Richie scored one of his trademark tries running down the blind side to at least get Holt on the scoresheet for the day.
In the final game V Saffron Walden, the boys played the best rugby of the day, scoring three fine tries, the pick being a well timed interception by Archie C in the centre.
Despite the conditions it was good for the boys to be tested and to play against a high level of opposition.
The U13’s also sent some players to Crusaders on Sunday to take part in the Eastern Counties U13, tier 6 festival. Six of our lads joined forces with five Wymondham players to form the 'Norfolk Barbarians'. They played in difficult conditions against Stowmarket, Ipswich YMCA, Crusaders and Felixstowe, enjoying competitive matches with close finishes. All lads contributed with some determined running, skillful handling and occasional tackling!!
Coach's Man of the Matches goes to Elliott for showing the others how to tackle low!
