Holt Rugby Club are planning for the usual large crowd for its Boxing Day celebrations. Kicking off at 11 am, the First XV take on The President's XV. With help from Holt's Captain, Ashley Woods, Club President, Paul Williams, is picking from a strong squad representing clubs from the Eastern Counties and an exciting, entertaining game of open rugby is expected.
At the same time, on the adjacent pitch, there will be the usual fancy dress game for all comers.
For the spectators there will be hot soup and snacks to keep them warm as well as the comfort of Holt's recently extended clubhouse.
The referee for the main game is 21 year old Grant Stephen. Grant, from Briston, is a product of Holt's successful youth section. Having only been refereeing for four years, Grant has already qualified to referee at level 6 which involves teams at North Walsham's level. Grant's ambition is to referee at National level and, recently, he was selected to referee Army v Navy under 23s.
