8th April London 2 North East
Holt RFC vs. Campion RFC
Preview
Following seven months of a gruelling league season the final league fixture for Holt 1st team ends with a visit from Campion. Both Holt and Campion will be saying farewell to London 2 and moving what looks likely to be revamped Eastern Counties and Essex leagues next season. Holt have enjoyed five seasons at level seven, a remarkable achievement considering the size of the Market Town of Holt (Pop 4000) with a small squad largely made up of home grown players Holt have gained a great reputation both on and off the field and will be missed.
Holt have struggled to score against Campion on home soil in recent seasons scoring just two tries and on recent form a resurgent Campion will probably be difficult to break down once again. Last time out Campion won their first game of the season but recently scored 28 points on the road at Norwich and lost by just one point away at Woodford. However, ending the season with a victory together with a try bonus point will be an excellent way of preparing for the coming three weekends with Holt involved in local Cups against Diss (Easter Saturday), Fakenham (22nd April), West Norfolk (29th April) all away from home.
Holt 1st Squad from: P Davies, Tim Allen, S Moyes, R Gray, B Collings, S Moffat, A woods, B van Poortvliet, A Boesen, B Harvey, A Hughes, A Loane, T Starnes, J Whitesides, B Halton-Farrow, C Fowler, M Humberstone, J Riley (Capt),
There will be an extra and unexpected fixture at Bridge Road on Saturday with an invitational side playing Holt Owls and the Club would welcome any players wishing to put on their boots for what will be a highly entertaining friendly. Please contact Samuel Wright on Social Media.
