Holt kept alive their promotion chances with a late second-half surge that produced twenty seven points.
Holt took an early lead with an unconverted try from Aaron Tagg followed by a try from Oliver Jaggard which he converted. Just before half-time Aaron Tagg got his second try but, in the meantime, Thetford had taken the lead with tries from Toby Andrews, Richard Sharp and Tony Watson. Two of these tries were converted by Josh Sharp. Thetford led 19 -17 at half-time.
Sloppy play from Holt at the start of the second half allowed Thetford to increase their lead to 31 -17 with tries from Martin Stevens and Ryan Gardner, the former converted by Josh Sharp.
Holt then took control. Ben Halton-Farrow, making his debut for the first team, scored two tries, the second of which was converted by Geoff Flather. Continuous pressure from Holt resulted in a penalty try and the game was rounded off with an unconverted try from Aaron Cole followed by a penalty converted by Oliver Jaggard.
