Playing against the bottom of the league Epping, Holt took an early lead within 2 minutes with a try by Robbie Freeman, which Tom Jackson converted.
However, in incredibly challenging conditions, and against a side that were very much physically stronger on the day, Holt struggled to compete up front. Ollie Woodrow scored against the run of play, as basically Epping dealt with the gale force winds and slippery ball much better than Holt did. Epping kept Holt away from their own 22 by playing well to the unremitting weather, and the result was a fair reflection of the game. Holt's young team mathematically can still stay up in this league, however today's result makes the task of securing safety much more difficult.
