Ken would be a surprising addition to the Tigers - Martyn Jackson
Boxing Day saw the traditional festive fixtures at Holt Rugby’s Bridge Road ground. This year the first team’s game against a President’s XV was preceded by touch rugby, with many of the participants wearing fancy dress. Among them was 88-year-old Ken Swallow who appeared in full Leicester Tiger’s kit. As the Tigers have been struggling this season, and will be seeking to recruit new talent, this has given rise to speculation that Ken could be a target.
Holt Club Chairman, Martyn Jackson, who plays touch O2 touch rugby with Ken at the regular Thursday sessions offered the following comment:
"Ken would be a surprising addition to the Tiger’s squad but he can cover any position in the backs or back row. At 88 he may have lost some pace, but he has a great deal of experience to bring to any side!”
So far neither Ken nor Leicester Tigers have confirmed or denied that discussions are taking place.
