After a long battle with MS, with great sadness Holt RFC learnt that Hugh Alston passed away peacefully at the end of May.

Hugh is pictured here with Chris Harrison. Chris has advised that Hugh's funeral is on the 22nd June @ 12 o'clock at Bradfield church, with the wake afterwards at Bradfield cricket club. You are most welcome.

Hugh was a very prominent playing member in the 80’s, he was first XV hooker played alongside brother Jimmy who was our club captain. Hugh also captained the Owls; he was a very active committee member and his responsibility for a while was over seeing the bar! Hugh was always fun to be around great tourist, and lively club member. All though unfortunately due to MS we have not seen him at the club for a long while. Those who knew him will have many fond memories of his time at the club.

Our heart felt condolences go out to Jane, Emma, Victoria, Charlotte and Georgie also to Jim and the Alston family.
