Another lovely Sunday morning continued as we avoided any rain showers until we had finished playing and clearing away. Part two of the PGL Minis Festival was every bit as good as part one, with 478 children coming from Essex, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire and Norfolk all having a great time playing rugby at Holt RFC. Coaches bringing the children in from various campsites around Norfolk and the majority coming in from the PGL site in Overstrand. Our car parking volunteers done another great job today getting everyone in quickly and safely.
Again, a big shout out to all the volunteers that helped make today happen. Today it was the turn of our U14s to help serve the drinks and food from the BBQ. The cake stall was again a big success, thank you to those that took control on this stall.
The minis festival is always a good days rugby for the children and it is a privilege to work with all the clubs that came along, our staff and of course all the volunteers that came forward, stepped up and helped me through today.
Our First Aid volunteers have done a brilliant job over the last two Sundays, thank you for your time and putting into practice the first aid skills you have which helped MED-PTS over the two festivals, THANK YOU.
Thanks to Ali and staff looking after the bar and to JGLS for everything you have done getting the food out to the severs and the pre-orders, providing equipment for the outside drinks and food offerings.
Another long day for me, the alarm going off at 5am and getting to Holt RFC around 6.15am to get thing in place (covering 16km, 20k steps in the day). Things are in place and thoughts in mind to look at making improvements for the 2026 festival, which I’m sure will be another success.
