Your help is needed please for us to keep shining a light on rugby

We want to replace our floodlighting, and have set up a Community Fund - Aviva is generously providing live match funding of your donations.

We have this afternoon set up a Community Fund for the club to raise money to replace our floodlighting to eco-friendly and economical units, in turn helping to save the planet, save our members' money, and help keep rugby affordable.

AVIVA is generously live match funding all donations made, up to the maximum value of £250 per donation, which is incredible - THANK YOU!

How does this work? Basically, if you donate £50, Aviva double this to £100; if you donate £200, Aviva double this to £400. If you'd like to donate £500 however and are a couple or have friends, please pay £250 separately, rather than 1 x £500, so that Aviva again double the donation to become £1000.

We can also claim Gift Aid on all donations.

Please click on this Community Fund Link HERE for more information and to be able to donate.

Remember - please only give what you can afford; we appreciate all amounts large or small. Please can you share our funding page with your friends & family, far and wide, so we achieve our target.

"One club - one team. It's an ethos that runs through everything we do at Holt Rugby Club. It's easy to say but requires commitment to put into practice. It's an understanding that everyone has a role to play in delivering success in whatever form that may take - whether it's our 1st Team Captain, scoring another try; or our Premises Manager, preparing our clubhouse for hosting visitors; or our bar and kitchen team, making everyone feel welcome; or our sponsors for their generosity; or the minis and youth coaches looking after our burgeoning talent; or our senior coaching and support team; or any of our regular and occasional volunteers (including our committee); or our hundreds of members aged 6 to 92 who play or support the club, our pitch-side supporters, and everyone in-between.

It's fair to say that the club has risen from the covid-19 lockdown in good heart and has taken great strides forward since. Our 1st XV have enjoyed back-to-back promotions and our age grade membership is strong. Sadly, though, some of physical infrastructure is coming to the end of its useful life and is outdated and uneconomical - in particular, our floodlights. Those floodlights allow us to provide our youth teams and adult players with the opportunity to train during the week in the evenings, but are starting to fail and are inefficient to run - meaning unnecessary cost and environmental impact. Upgrading to modern LED lighting units now will provide us with a more sustainable future and ensure that we can keep shining a light on rugby talent - from the club that has helped develop England its most capped men's player (Ben Youngs) alongside his brother Tom, England full back Freddie Steward and rising Leicester Tigers talent Charlie Clare and Harry Simmons".
